News » Visitors of the Expo Feria Alemana enjoyed low carbon coffee from Costa Rica


Visitors of the 2018 Expo Feria Alemana had the opportunity to taste the world´s first low-carbon coffee and buy it from the mills Río Conejo and Santa Elena at GIZ´s booth at the fair.  

The NAMA Support Project Low-carbon Coffee Costa Rica (NSP Café) and its worldwide first coffee were presented within GIZ´s presence at the Expo Feria Alemana on November 10th and 11th. Visitors of the event had the opportunity to taste low-carbon coffee from the National Coffee Institute and buy coffee from the mills → Río Conejo and → Santa Elena. Additionally, GIZ personnel gave detailed information on the NSP Café and promoted a new project aimed at introducing shade trees into coffee plantations in order to improve climate conditions and adaptation to climate change within the farms. 

The Expo Feria Alemana is an annual event, offering German companies working in Costa Rica the opportunity to present their work to the public. GIZ presented several climate change and environmentally related projects.
